People change the environment

People change the environment to cover their needs.
Examples:

• Food production: people plant fields to grow food crops.
• Access to water: we build wells, canals and reservoirs to get water at our homes.
• Transport: we build roads, ways, fishing ports, airports, railways, forest roads...
• Extraction of raw materials: people mine the earth for rocks and minerals.
• Shelter: people build houses, hotels, hospitals.
